Guided by Jon Hill
Alligator Flats Inshore Jetty Nearshore
Captain Jon is a master angler who knows how to put his clients on speckled trout, redfish, and flounder! He also chases jack crevalle, sharks, snapper, mackerel, rays, tarpon, and many other species that inhabit Texas waters.
Jon also runs badass alligator hunts out of Anahuac, "The Gator Capital of Texas"! These trips are a blast, and you can keep your reptiles as well. If you've never bagged one of these bad boys, there's no better way to do it.
On this trip, you'll set out with Captain Jon for the classic Texas gamefish: Spotted Seatrout, Redfish, and some Flounder—if the season is right. You'll go after these fish with everything from live bait to lures, knowing you can rely on Captain Jon's expertise to point you in the right direction and give you the best chance to catch a personal best! On the morning of the trip, you'll head out on Captain Jon's 23' Shoalwater Cat bay boat—the perfect craft for fishing shallow flats and inshore waters. He'll provide everything you need for a perfect day. Just remember to bring proper clothing, sunscreen, and a hat! Read More
If you are looking for an adventure, this is it! This gator hunt takes place on private property just outside the town of Anahuac, Texas, known as the "Gator Capital of Texas". This is where Texas Gator Fest is held each year, and folks come from all around to see who can bag the biggest gator! On this trip, you'll use the traditional hook-and-line method, but if you're interested in bowhunting please let us know. A typical hunt consists of our guests showing up the afternoon before to set lines, then waiting overnight before going out to check them first thing in the morning. If you prefer, the guide can set your lines, and all you have to do is drive down once your gator is on the line. Once dispatched, we will load your gator and take it to the local processor, or you may take it to your own preferred processor wherever that may be. We scout daily to try and locate the best gators and bait sites, and provide the best chance of success for our customers. Processing and tanning options can be purchased at the processor. There is a lodging fee of $175 for each non-hunting guest. There is a trophy fee for gators over 9 feet long, priced at $50/inch. Read More
