Off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, there are a couple different techniques for trolling: trolling the reefs for Kingfish and Bonitos and trolling offshore for Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Tunas, and sometimes even a Blue Marlin! **Trolling the Reef** 90% of your bites will be on the deep lines, so Captain Taco will troll with 2 planner boards that take the bait about 45 feet down along with 3 baits skipping across the surface at about 5 to 6 knots. If you get a Kingfish bite 9 out of 10 times both deep rods will get hit at the same time. These fish like to travel in schools so Captain Taco will steer the boat in big circles dragging the baits around where you got the first bit and BAM every time you circle you should get another bite. (Well that’s how it ideally would work of course) **Trolling Offshore** When trolling offshore Captain Taco will pump the gas a little to cover more ground. You'll usually troll 5 to 6 baits on the surface at 6 to 8 knots. He doesn't like trolling the planners offshore due to the resistance that the planners cause, but just about anything floating out there might hold some fish. And I mean anything if he spots a weed patch, grass line, or even a piece of driftwood, you know Captain Taco's gonna pull the baits past it to see if anybody's home. Both are great options, and you might even have enough time to try a little of both! No matter what, you are sure to have a great time fishing in Ft. Lauderdale with Captain Taco. His charter is not one of those stuffy Ft. Lauderdale fishing charters where the mate and captain are stuck on themselves and barely talk to you. They want you to party, relax, or do whatever you like to do. In his mind, his job is to make your time aboard the "Hooked Up" the most enjoyable time a person can have fishing in Ft Lauderdale. All Taco's trips come with his Full-Service Package which includes an experienced captain & mate, all necessary fishing licenses, top-of-the-line rods, reels & tackle, a cooler loaded with ice for your beers & sodas, and a lot of laughs & a great time! All he recommends you bring along with you is some food and drink for your voyage, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a little luck! Read More

Great trip with a very knowledgeable crew as well. Would recommend to others seeking a fishing charter in the Fort Lauderdale area.
Amazing experience, caught a 300LB Pumpkin swordfish! Highly recommend.
This was our last adventure on vacation, and it was a perfect ending! We had a group of 4, each caught some bait fish, 3 barracudas, and 4 Mahi! Captain Taco and Dan were fantastic guides and celebrated right along with us!
We had an amazing time today with Capt Lou and Tyler. Super cool guys, made everything effortless for us while we got to enjoy reeling in some awesome fish! Definitely will be booking another trip out with this crew.
By far the best tackle and hardest fisherman in Fort Lauderdale. These guys put hours of preparation to make sure that they are prepared.
When we arrived we had a brief meeting with captain taco and Mike to see what the plan for the day would be. Several in the group thought mahi mahi would be a lot of fun. Otherws snappers if we had time and others. Their slip is super convenient and within minutes we were out on the Atlantic. It turned into one of the best fishing days in my 54 years lol. The two of them knew how to find and species and stay on them and were the best guys. Just like fishing with friends. The boat was super comfortable and very clean. We ended up with over a dozen mahi mahi and done mitten snapper and great fun memories. I highly recommend these two for a memorable experience. …
Can’t go wrong with this charter. Excellent boat, equipment and crew. Fishing was a little slow to start and Dan changed up the baits and boom. We had a great steady catch of black fin tuna, bonita and a bonus wahoo! This is the perfect charter to take if you have kids really big cabin with cold AC when you want to get out of the sun. Look them up in Ft Lauderdale and you will be happy …
My brother and I booked this trip with the intention of landing a trophy. Captain Taco, and his crew delivered and did so quickly…we were able to land a 9 foot hammerhead within 2 1/2 hours on the boat…off of a kite no less!. WHAT A FIGHT!!! We also put a half dozen blackfin Tuna and a King Mackerel on ice to bring home…this was an experience that I fully intend to do again …
Trip of a lifetime. 6 hour trip. Seas were rougher but perfect day for kite fishing. Crew handled gear and conditions like professionals. We started off trolling, hooked some tuna and Bonita. We switched over to live bait. Highly recommend. Extra but worth it. We started kite fishing. Within 15 minutes we had 2 sailfish hooked. One got away. After that we hooked a king and the action died after that. The technique and finesse that the crew has was impressive. Top game trip I’ve been on. Definitely a repeater! …
Captain Greg was knowledgable and helpful. He took us out, and he and his first mate set the poles up seamlessly while we enjoyed the ride. After a slowish start - 3 Mackerels - we hooked into a 50+ pound Amber Jack. That fight lasted about 20 minutes and ended in a great pic of myself and my 2 sons holding an enormous Amberjack. And if that weren’t enough, we hooked and landed a 200+ pound Hammerhead shark 20 minutes later! The captain and his mate were helpful throughout. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend them if you’re looking for a deep sea fishing experience. …
