Guided by Brian Froelich
Captain Brian spent tons of time down in Costa Rica fishing tournaments and for pleasure adjacent to his 30 year career as a Key Largo fishing guide. This past year the Double Nickle went up for sale while he was down in Quepos, and while he thought he wasn't in the market for a boat, the more he got to thinking, the offer was too good to pass up. Captain Brian has been running trips out of Quepos for the past year (Captain Roy will fish with him/fill in from time to time) implementing the same techniques he used fishing the Gulf and Atlantic sides off the Florida Keys, running the same great trips.
Head out with Captain Bryan and Captain Roy aboard their custom-built sportfishing charter boat located in beautiful Quepos Costa Rica at the world-class Marina Pez Vela. Aboard this beautiful boat, they offer Quepos sportfishing adventures targeting Sailfish, Blue, Black, and Striped Marlin as well as trophy-sized Mahi Mahi, and Yellowfin Tuna. Captain Bryan and Roy are experts at matching your fishing experience level and will cater to your fishing needs and always keep the boat rigged up with the latest gear to ensure a successful fishing charter. Costa Rica is well known for its flat, calm sea conditions and its incredible amount of billfish. Quepos Costa Rica boasts the world’s finest sportfishing. We offer light tackle bait and switch fishing for seasoned professionals with the desire to hone their skills as well as catering to novice anglers. Every day is a good day when you’re out fishing for giants with Captain Bryan and Captain Roy. They know all of the fish patterns and stay up to date on the most successful techniques to land you that trophy fish. All trips include a hot lunch, drinks, water, beer, snacks, and fruits. The Fishing: Quepos, Costa Rica is the crowned jewel of this sportifishing paradise, and is well known for its flat, calm sea conditions (especially during the December-April high season) and its incredible number of billfish. Anglers arrive from all over the world as Quepos is one of the only fisheries in the world home to Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, White Marlin, and Sailfish. In addition to the billfish scene, anglers flock to Quepos for the action-packed inshore fishery and a chance to catch the coveted Roosterfish and voracious Cubera Snapper. Furthermore, given his background in the Bahamas and Florida Keys, Captain Brian and his crew love to explore the world-class bottom fishing for Broomtail Grouper and Tilefish. The Boats: Fishing will take place aboard the 42' Buddy Davis, "Double Nickel", and the 42' Ronin, "TooSea". Both vessels feature spacious, air-conditioned cabins and are complete with all the bells and whistles needed to fish Costa Rica right– dredges, outriggers and top-of-the-line heavy and light tackle for catching billfish, mahi, tuna, and wahoo on the troll, deep dropping for Tilefish and Grouper, and inshore action chasing Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, and Spanish Mackerel. Both vessels are manned by experienced captain and crew (2 deckhands) who will prepare the trolling spreads, clean and fillet the day's catch, and serve fresh fruit, snacks, and hot lunches daily. Vessels will be supplied daily with water, soft drinks, beer, and ice. Charters will leave daily from world-renowned Marina Pez Vela which is a short 10 minute drive from the estates.
